Chris Morrell (John Wayne) is the guardian of a little Native American girl, who's the heir to a $50,000 oil claim, and he must track down her long-lost father in order for her to receive the claim. Other men hear about the girl's inheritance and plot to kidnap the girl in order to get their hands on the money. Morrell now must also protect the girl from kidnapping and avoid the law due to a case of mistaken identity as well as attempt to find her father before the claim expires.
